NCK-WiFi has been available for the Mitchell County Fair since 2016.
THE CHALLENGE
Providing an open wifi network for the guests and vendors of the fair to connect to without having to sign up for anything and/or without having to know any passwords to connect to the Internet.
Access to free and open wifi is one of the biggest challenges for fairground managers to meet the demands of its guests visiting and vendors who want/need access to the Internet. If the wifi quality does not meet the expectations of the guests, it can have a negative effect on their overall satisfaction and possible reviews of the fair. Fairground managers are starting to acknowledge this and are increasingly taking actions to improve wifi service for guests and vendors.
THE SOLUTION
NCK-WiFi provided by the local Internet Service Providers in the area: NCKCN & CTC.
After much collaboration between the fairground managers and NCKCN (North Central Kansas Community Network – A non-profit Rural Wireless Internet Service Provider), a solution was found.
Introducing NCK-WiFi, an open network that allows free access with speeds up to 10Mbps by 10Mbps (Download by Upload) per user on a 1Gbps (1024Mbps) backhaul link provided by a partnership between NCKCN & CTC (Cunningham Telephone & Cable).
THE RESULTS
Happy guests and vendors who are able to access the open and free network with just a click of a button; granting guests and vendors the ability to download and upload content such as: Videos, Photos, Live Streaming, etc…with ease and without the issue of slow loading times.
